Originally from Atlanta but making his home base here in Boston comes the electro tinged sounds of Ben Absent, who has released his brand new EP today titled "Cat". His sound is reared within the house/techno realm, but he definitely takes in some subtle pop influences spaced out in between to balance out the musical texture on the surface. Ben goes to school locally at Berklee College of Music where his wealth of music knowledge is getting exponentially bigger by the moment, and you can clearly tell how incredibly talented and musically capable Ben is just by listening to him. I'm not a big fan of techno music by any means, but I'm impressed by the way in which Ben conducts himself and just lets his natural talent take its course, and have a slow impact on listeners around him who will definitely gravitate towards him and reciprocate their shared love of music. An incredible talent that will take a few listens to deeply appreciate.
