Boston based garage rock quartet Answerman have released their new single to the world today titled "Black Heart". The song has a gritty, dynamic texture that slowly builds up to the crescendo, and then quietly explodes in a stream of consciousness that all makes sense when you listen to it as a whole. It's the first single off their forthcoming debut album Black Light Poster which will be out on April 21st. The group consists of Sam Pitino on guitar and lead vocals, Tom Murphy on guitar, Walt Enright on bass, and Chris Orcutt on drums. What most impressed me about this group was their overall simplicity and how they felt the need to not do too much creatively to make a first impression. It's the music doing all the talking, and that allows the band to have a firm base and a clear message for the listener when stumbling upon them for the first time. I was truly impressed with what I've heard, and am looking forward to what musical gifts they'll bring to the table in the future.
