From beautiful Grand Rapids, MI comes the majestic and serene sounds of Pretoria, back at it again with their brand new single out last week titled "Certainly". The track is a multi-layered, majestic opus that sees the band reach the pinnacle of greatness in such a short span of time, and puts music listeners near and far directly on notice with a marvelous song that has the surefire staying power to become the band's preeminent hallmark track, and one that you'll be hitting on repeat for quite some time. The band consists of Rob Gullett on bass and lead vocals, Josh Bilisko on guitar, Matt Burdick on guitar, Ben DeWitt on drums, and newcomer Matt Pavlock on guitar. These guys have been an omnipresent force here on the site since I first featured them back in 2019, and I marveled at their pure, unadulterated indie sound reminiscent of Vampire Weekend which had a certain beauty and lyrical honesty to it that it was impossible to look away, especially with my favorite song from them "Cody Maverick". On this new track, the guys burrow their way deeper into your hearts with an intricate number that sees Rob's vocals get even more beautiful and breathtaking, plus the masterful instrumentation of the Matts, Josh, and Ben are more in tune with each other than ever before. It's astonishing of how perfect a this track is, and it had me in tears the first time I heard which is something that is very rare and just shows the sheer impact these guys have on people. A tune that is required listening for all right now!
